Translate conversations

Your team reads and writes in its own language. Customers read and write in theirs. Retily translates in between, and the original is always one click away.

1. Choose your language

  1. Open your profile from the user card at the bottom of the sidebar.
  2. Under Your language, pick it in Language. Any language works; the menus follow in English, French, Spanish, Portuguese (Brazil) and Arabic.
  3. Make sure Show customer messages in my language is ticked.

It is just for you: each teammate picks their own. Someone who picks none gets the workspace’s language.

2. Read customers in your language

Retily detects the customer’s language from what they write, per chat and per ticket, and shows it on the thread. Their messages appear in your language, with Show original under each one. Reading is free.

Wrong language detected?

Click the customer’s language on the thread and choose the right one. Detection never overrides your choice.

3. Reply in yours

Tickets
Write your reply. The first time you press Send, Retily shows it under the reply box as “The customer receives”, in their language. Edit it if you like, then press Send again.
Chat
Write and send as usual. Your message goes out in the customer’s language, marked “Sent in” it, with “See what the customer received”.
  • Each translated reply sent is 1 credit. Names, links and numbers stay as written, and your original is kept.
  • If a translation can’t be made, Send as written sends your words as they are.
  • The AI’s own answers to customers are already in the customer’s language.

For the whole workspace

In Settings › General, under Languages:

Workspace language
For teammates who haven’t chosen one, and for a customer whose language isn’t known yet.
Never translate
Your product and brand names, one per line. They stay exactly as written in every translation.
“Translated from…”
Adds a line to translated emails, with the original below it. Off by default.

Click Save languages. The chat widget and the contact form speak the visitor’s language too: English, French, Spanish, Portuguese (Brazil), German, Italian or Arabic. Choose which in each widget’s Languages settings.
